I came from West Vancouver with
My laptop on my knees.
I’m travelling around the world,
My friends I wish to see.
It rained so hard the day I left,
The weather made me cry.
When my pals heard I was gone,
They came to say goodbye.
O West Vancouver, the city by the sea,
The only place in this whole world
Where I’d rather be.
How I loved that sandy beach
In nearby Ambleside.
The pier that stretched out to the sea
We fished on either side.
Caulfeild Village beckoned me:
Come take your coffee now.
The park-like scenes I used to see,
Was my home somehow.
O West Vancouver, the city by the sea,
The only place in this whole world
Where I’d rather be.
Yes, she had the sweetest smile
In this part of town.
The gentle way she held my hand
Made a fellow proud.
But she tried the other day
To make me settle down.
That’s why I left that lovely place.
Now I can’t be found.
O West Vancouver, the city by the sea,
The only place in this whole world
Where I’d rather be.
